Minimally invasive hand and upper extremity care
While hand and arm conditions sometimes require surgery, we always prioritize the least invasive and most effective treatments. Our nonsurgical options for these conditions include:
- Custom splinting
- Injected medicines
- Nerve stimulation techniques
- Pain management
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation
Advanced arm and hand surgery
If a noninvasive treatment isn’t an option, you can work with an orthopedic surgeon for treatment. Whenever possible, we use minimally invasive techniques to create smaller incisions and decrease your recovery time. We offer the following hand and upper extremity surgeries:
- Arthroscopy - Inserts a tube with a tiny camera and a light into the joint
- Carpal tunnel release - Releases pressure on the compressed median nerve in the wrist
- Closed reduction and fixation - Realigns and holds broken bones in place using internal fixtures, such as rods or wires
- Ligament and tendon repair and reconstruction - Repairs sprains and strains in the fingers, hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders
- Microsurgery - Fixes compressed or severed nerves and blood vessels in the hands and wrists
- Rotator cuff shoulder repair - Reattaches the tendon to the upper arm bone in a complete tear or trims and smooths the tendon and bone in a partial tear
- Tommy John surgery (TJS) - Replaces an injured ulnar collateral ligament in the elbow with a tendon taken from another part of the body
